welcome to windsor creek, home of natural born competitors..
windsor creek started out as just a very large peace of un-established land at the tip of the most eastern point of main. it had vast forests, tall mountains, deep valleys, acres and acres of swamps, long winding rivers, and wide lakes and miles of beach stretched out next to the atlantic ocean. but what set it apart from most is though it had lots of beautiful natural landscaping it was most plains of some of the best grass any horse could hope to be turned out to.
in 1920 and man named david windsor moved here with his horse loving daughter angelica windsor from new york after her mother died in a fire that destroyed their house. they built a huge farm and bought lots of horses and a whole town of houses for the people to live who cared for theses horses and the grounds everything was great and though the town was never officially named everyone called it windsor creek after the man who found it. but nothing can stay perfect forever and in 1930 angelica windsor died in a riding accident that sent her father into a great depression. he sold off all their horses, and the one he couldn't sell it is said he turned loose, and moved back to new york. losing their jobs in mr. windsor's second lifestyle change all of his former employees had to move leaving pretty much everything to find work. in 1935 when david windsor's business went bad he was finally sent over the edge and shot himself dieing instantly. and nothing was ever said again about windsor creek.
twenty years had passed since someone was in windsor creek and in the april of 1951 a man named bruce boernke crashed his boat on some rocks and had to swim to shore stumbled upon a white stallion who galloped away as soon as he tried to get near. but bruce ran after him following him right to the heart of windsor creek. after being rescued he told all his friends and even some random people about this lost city and soon many people where driving up to the town horses in tow. they officially named they city windsor creek after finding a broken sign in front of the old stable that said that. they fixed up all the horses in the town and moved right in as well as building lots of stables all specializing in many different disciplines. turning the place into a even more fantastic town then it once was.
now windsor creek in known as one of the most horse related towns in the world right up there next to lexington, kentucky. every one here loves horses and devotes there whole lives to them. there is a huge mall with all kinds of stores, vast show grounds, beautiful stables, a huge auction and sales center, lots of public riding places and too places to live the new modern town horses or the original houses in the copper creek community, not to mention the huge old stable on windsor creek that is said to be haunted but his daughter and there have been many sighting that there is a wild herd of horses who still live there. you can find whatever you want here at windsor creek; friends, horses, stables, rivals. where will you fit in?
The Elkaran are an anciant race. Little is known of their past to the Original wolves, but to the Elkaran it is a closely guarded secret. A secret I am willing to share with you, at least in part. But first you must understand the nature of this secret, for it is a secret like no other. No, this is a secret of the Earth and Skies and everything around us. This is a secret of our very beings.
The story starts at the creation of the first packs. At first there were many packs, but one stood far out from the rest. Shy and reclusive for the most part, the Elkaran dabbled in the myth and legend of the wolves, prying out many secrets from sources the others couldn’t comprehend. For many generations this continued, the packs evolved into a hierarchy, the Elkaran receding further and further into the shadows, they and their myths and legends all but forgotten.
After many generations, something seemed to happen among the Elkaran. They made a breakthrough. Six of the remaining seven Elkaran discovered what seemed to be the secret of controlling the elements them selves. But these were not quite the elements you may be thin king of, for among the wolves they were different. Earth, Air, Water, Plants, Animals and Death, each Elkara controlling one. All but Animals had been discovered. The last Elkara, distraught at being the only failure, left.
The remaining six re-entered the life of the Original wolves, casting wonder and a new belief among them. They were now considered as Gods. They formed their own packs, gathered a few disciples, and taught them the secrets they had discovered, confided in the few their power.
Then, a few years later, word reached the Elkaran of another wolf, a strange one, with the power to control the minds of animals, and he was collecting forces. The lost Elkara had returned, with a vengeance.
The Elkaran and their disciples met this old foe with his army of Original wolves, and a huge battle ensued. But for all their strength, the Elkaran were only just able to overcome this one rogue Elkara, but it took all their strength. The Rebel Army pack went into seclusion. The Elkaran met, and decided on a course of action. They had not enough strength to remain in the Real world, so they would bestow upon one of them enough power for them to remain, while the rest receded into the spirit world that lies between life and death, while the Death Elkara would guard over the Rogue, who they had imprisoned in between Spirit and Death.
But that was all many ages ago now. There are now more disciples, now named the Elkaran after our pack, than there are Original wolves. And He is rising again. And I am afraid. Especially now that the Original wolves are uprising against our controll. After so long of being left in Life, apart from my pack, I fear that I do not have the strength to face my brother again alone.

"... But you don't have any of that, do you?"
My cautious mood exploded with a burst of anger. I snapped angrily, flashing my teeth as I focused on the insult and the words, pulling from it their true meaning. This Varg, this... Balkar obviousely enjoyed his position of power. I could only wonder how many innocent and how many pups had fallen under his bite? How many had he smothered with his paws, or... Fenris forbid it, drowned? The more I thought about him, the more I grew to hate him. Prejudice clouded my former judgment of him, re-shaping him into the monster I wanted him to be. And I feared the monster.
But a dark little idea swallowed the fears, bringing out a rage I was hard pressed to control. What were the chances he'd had something to do with Romana's death?
I reminded myself that screwing with him could only end in tragedy; most likely a tragedy that included my death. But would death be so bad if I got to see Romana again? Don't go there, Teagan.
You're Balkar? I breathed quietly, barely above the howl on the wind, which so coldly ignored the unfolding drama.

I was still looking at him, somewhat calculatingly, when he answered me. Not anything special, nor anything particularly interestingly. At least, not until he spoke again.
So he had picked something up at least. I had said power indeed. Yes, I did. I left it at that, left it to sink in, giving him time perhaps to work through my previous words a little further. I actually found myself enjoying this, toying with this Sikla, stringing him along, waiting for him to catch on to who I was, or at least where I was from. And I wanted him to. Not to see him cower away from me in fear, but something more akin to curiosity as to what he would do. I had never met a Varg like him before.
I figured then that I had waited long enough.
To have power over other Varg. To have them bow to your will, to see them tremble in fear at the sight of you in your full fulfillment of your role, the satisfaction that it gives you... But you don't have any of that, do you?
Of course, I knew myself, and it was not others cowering that gave me satisfaction, but there was a certain element in having others do your will I'll admit. I don't really know what kept me in the Balkar, or even what made me decide to join in the first place. I just decided to join, and I was good at it, so I stayed really, I guess. And besides, I was trying to give this rather slow minded varg a push in the right direction, testing him in his reaction, well of would when he answered of course. That I was still waiting for.

Oh, I guess that makes sense. I muttered, not really finding a good way to continue the topic. I mulled over his words a bit, decided there was more in them then I first saw, and proceeded to blunder out another question which should have remained quiet. Did you say "power"?
I flinched a little as the words escaped, but accepted the fact that they were out there now, and yelling "oops, never mind!" was going to neither solve the problem, or gain me any level of respect. I let out a low, nervous chuckle, turning my ears back to keep the wind out of them. Perhaps after these tedious formalities and mistrusting questions were over, we could find somewhere better to talk... or to fight, as it may be.
